Jessica Gregory

I came to mechanical engineering via an unorthodox route.  I first earned a BA in Religious Studies from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR.  After some years working I returned to school and earned a BS in Mathematics from UMass Boston, graduating Summa Cum Laude.  While there I conducted research on replicating the spread of an endemic pathogen through mixed population and scalefree networks.  I then went into the masters' mechanical engineering program at Virginia Tech.  I conducted my master's research on  modeling bat kinematics and dynamics on top of my thesis reserach on distribution free learning theory with consensus.
